El Paraíso, in English ‘The Paradise’, is one of the biggest and most established luxury developments on the Costa del Sol, which is part of the municipality of the small but famous village of Benahavís. The latter also includes the world famous La Zagaletta Country Club, the Marbella Club Golf Resort, the Golf & Country Club Monte Mayor as well as the La Quinta development, Los Arqueros, Flamingo Golf Club and Benahavís Hills Country Club.

The development is divided into three areas. One is El Paraíso Alto, which is the highest part of this area with a breathtaking and incomparable view over Marbella, the sea and Gibraltar. Secondly, El Paraíso Medio, which is mainly situated directly on the development’s own 18-hole golf course, designed by Gary Player, offers an impressive view of the Monte Mayor mountains and thirdly, El Paraíso Barronal, which is located on the beach side.

El Paraíso is and has always been a place of retreat for prominent and wealthy personalities. For example, the world-famous singer 'Prince', with his wife Mayte Garcia, had a luxury residence in Paraiso Alto, and also, the brother of the King of Saudi Arabia, Prince Sultan ibn Abd al-Aziz has a huge palace in the middle of the golf course.

In general, El Paraíso is an insider’s tip, but it is so popular because it offers the utmost privacy, peace and security, yet it is centrally located in the immediate vicinity of San Pedro (5 minutes), Puerto Banús (10 minutes) and Marbella City (15 minutes). The clear building regulations and the fact there are hardly any vacant plots, rules out further dense and uncontrolled development.

The entire surrounding infrastructure consists of beach clubs, restaurants, cafes, hotels, shopping centres, banks, international schools, as well as various tennis and golf clubs and yet you feel undisturbed in El Paraíso. Malaga international airport is 45 minutes away by car as is Gibraltar.
