Cookies

Like many other websites, we also use so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. This automatically provides us with certain data such as your IP address, browser used, operating system and your connection to the Internet.

Cookies cannot be used to start programs or to transmit viruses to a computer. Based on the information contained in cookies, we can make navigation easier for you and ensure that our webpages are correctly displayed.

Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.

Of course, it is also possible to view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are normally set to accept cookies. Generally speaking, you can deactivate the use of cookies at any time via your browser settings. Please use the help functionality of your Internet browser to find out how you can change these settings. Please note that some features of our website may not work if you have disabled the use of cookies.

Registration on our website

When you register to use our personalised services, we collect some personal information about you, such as your name, address, and details for contacting you and communicating with you, such as your phone number and email address. Registering with us will provide you with access to content and services that are exclusively for registered users. SSL encryption

To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS.

Comment function

When users leave comments on our website, the time at which the comment is created and the user name previously chosen by the website visitor are stored in addition to this information. This is to protect ourselves, since we can be prosecuted for illegal content on our webpage even if it were provided by users.

Newsletter

Based on your express permission, we will regularly send you our newsletter or similar information via e-mail to your registered e-mail address.

Providing your e-mail address is all that is required to receive the newsletters. When registering to receive our newsletter, the details you provide are used exclusively for that purpose. Under certain circumstances, subscribers can also be informed via e-mail about issues relating to the service or to registration (for example, changes to the newsletters offered or technical matters).

We need a valid e-mail address for an effective registration. In order to check if an application is actually from the owner of an e-mail address, we use a double opt-in process. To this end, we record the order of the newsletter, the dispatch of a confirmation e-mail and the input of the required response. No other data is collected. The data is used exclusively for the newsletter and is not passed on to third parties.

You can withdraw consent to the storage of your personal data and their use in newsletters at any time. There is a corresponding link in every newsletter. You can also unsubscribe directly on the website or send your request to the contact options at the end of this privacy advice at any time.

Making contact

When making contact with us (e.g. via contact forms, e-mail, telephone or social media) the details of the user are processed to deal with the contact queries in accordance with Article 6 Para. 1 lit. b. (within the framework of contractual/pre-contractual relationships), Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f. (other queries ) DSGVO. The user’s details can be stored in a Customer-Relationship-Management System (‘CRM System’) or similar query management system.

We delete queries as soon as they are no longer needed. We check that necessity every two years; furthermore, the legal archive regulations apply.

Inclusion of third-party services and content

As part of our online offer, based on our justified interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimisation and economic operation of our online offer in accordance with Article 6 Para. 1 lit. f. DSGVO) we include third-party content and service offers to incorporate their content and services, such as videos or written material, (hereinafter solely referred to as ‘content’).

This always presumes that third-party providers of this content are aware of the IP address of the user as they cannot send the content to their browser without the IP address. The IP address is therefore required for the presentation of this content. We endeavour to only use such content where their provider only uses the IP address to supply the content. Furthermore, third-party suppliers can use so-called pixel tags (invisible graphics, also called web beacons) for statistical or marketing purposes. The pixel tags enable the assessment of information such as the traffic on the sites. The pseudonym information can also be stored on the user’s device in cookies and includes technical information on the browser and operating system, referencing websites, length of visit plus other details on the use of our online offer as well as being combined with such information from other sources.

Use of Youtube

We include videos on the YouTube platform provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Data protection policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/, Opt-Out: https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated.

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (hereinafter: Google). Google Analytics uses cookies, that is text files stored on your computer, to enable the analysis of the use of the website. The information produced by the cookie on your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Based on the activation of the IP anonymisation on these websites, your IP address is shortened by Google within the member states of the European Union and in other states in the European Economic Area.

The full IP address is only transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there in exceptional cases. On behalf of the operators of this website, Google uses this information to assess your use of the website to compile reports on website activities and to provide additional services associated with the use of the website and the Internet relating to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics is not linked to other data from Google.

The purpose of data processing lies in the assessment of the use of the website and in the compilation of reports on activities on the website. Other related services can be generated based on the use of the website and the Internet. The processing depends on the justified interest of the website operator.

Cookies of Google Analytics

You can prevent the storage of cookies through the appropriate setting on your browser software; we would like to advise you that you will not be able to make use of the full functions of this website in that case. Beyond that, you can prevent the acquisition of the data produced by the cookie relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in using the following link: Browser add-on to deactivate Google Analytics.

Additionally, or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can stop tracking of our site by Google Analytics by clicking on this link. This installs an opt-out cookie. This prevents the future data acquisition by Google Analytics for this website and for this browser as long as the cookie remains installed on your browser.

Use of script libraries (Google web fonts)

In order to present our content across browsers correctly and graphically accurate we use script libraries on this website and font libraries such as Google web fonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/). Google web fonts are used to avoid repeated loading in your browser’s cache. In the event your browser does not support Google web fonts or denies access, content is displayed in a standard font.

Selecting script libraries or font libraries automatically triggers a connection with the operator of the library. In doing so it is theoretically possible – although currently unclear whether and to what purpose – that operators of appropriate libraries can collect data.

The data protection guidelines of the library operator Google are available here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

Use of Google Maps

This website uses Google Maps API to present a visual representation of geographical information. With the use of Google Maps, Google also collects, processes and uses data on the use of the map functions by visitors. Details on data processing by Google can be found in the Google data privacy statements. You can also change your personal privacy settings in the data protection centre.

Detailed guidance on managing your own data in connection with Google products can be found there.

Google AdWords

Our website uses Google conversion tracking. If you reach our website via an advert activated on Google, Google Adwords will place a cookie in your computer. The cookie for conversion tracking is activated when a user clicks on a Google promoted advert. These cookies become invalid after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If a user visits certain pages on our website and the cookie has not expired, then we and Google can see that the user has clicked on the advert and has been transferred to this page. Every Google AdWords customer is allocated a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore not be traced back via the websites of AdWords customers.

The information collected with the help of conversion cookies is used to produce conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers learn the total number of users who have clicked on their advert and are redirected to a site marked with a conversion tracking tag. They do not contain any information that can personally identify users.

If you don’t want to take part in tracking, then you can reject the required allocation of a cookie – via the browser settings that generally deactivate the automatic allocation of cookies or set your browser to block cookies from the ‘googleleadservices.com’ domain.

Please note, you cannot delete opt-out cookies as long as you do not want the recording of measured data. If you have deleted all the cookies in the browser, you will have to reset the particular opt-out cookie again.

Use of Google remarketing

This website uses the remarketing function of Google Inc. The function serves to present website visitors within the Google marketing network with relevant adverts. A cookie is stored in the browser of the website visitor that makes it possible to recognize the visitor again when they visit the website that belongs to the Google advertising network. On these sites, visitors are presented with adverts that refer to content that the visitor has accessed earlier on the websites that use the Google remarketing function.

According to their own information, Google does not collect personal data in this process. However, if you do not want the Google remarketing function, then you can deactivate it, by making appropriate settings at http://www.google.com/settings/ads. Alternatively, you can deactivate the use of cookies for relevant advertising via the advertising network initiative by following directions at http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp.

Google ReCaptcha

We incorporate the function for detecting bots, e.g. when entering into online forms (ReCaptcha) provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Data protection policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/, Opt-Out: https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated.

Changes to our data protection regulations

We reserve the right to amend this data protection policy to consistently conform with the current legal requirements or to implement changes to our provisions in the data protection policy, e.g. with the introduction of new services. The new data protection policy will apply on your next visit.
